Brandy Gobbell, Owner

Brandy King Gobbell is the heart and soul behind Divine Living Yoga in Lawrenceburg, TN. Introduced to yoga during her college years while pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Brandy's journey with yoga began as an elective course and quickly blossomed into a passion.

After completing her studies, Brandy returned to Lawrenceburg, where she continued her yoga practice under the guidance of Rosa Livingston at the Sun and Moon Yoga studio. Inspired by Rosa's teachings and the transformative power of yoga, Brandy decided to deepen her understanding by pursuing certification in Medical Therapeutic Yoga.

In addition to her dedication to yoga, Brandy leads a fulfilling life with her husband, Clint, and her daughter, Maddie, alongside their cherished fur babies: Cooper, Gnash, Grayson, Aurora, Meowskers, Milkshake, and Purr Purr. As a practicing PT specializing in Homecare, Brandy brings her holistic approach to healing to both her yoga classes and patient treatments.

When she's not on the mat or attending to her patients, Brandy can often be found cheering on her daughter at basketball, volleyball, or softball games, cherishing the moments of family and community that enrich her life.

Brandy's commitment to wellness, both in body and spirit, shines through in every aspect of her life, making Divine Living Yoga a sanctuary for all who seek balance, healing, and joy.

Sarah Jane Cothren, Instructor

Sarah Jane Cothren is a certified yoga teacher, having completed a 200-hour Sivananda yoga teacher training in 2019. Years earlier, in 2006, Sarah Jane began practicing yoga after photographing a college yoga class for a project and becoming interested in trying it out. She soon discovered the multitude of benefits she could enjoy from a yoga practice, and in 2011, during her pregnancy with her oldest child, she began attending classes locally. Throughout the following years, she continued to practice with various teachers, practicing mainly kundalini and hatha yoga. In 2019, although nursing a baby and dealing with health challenges that ended in surgery, she decided to take the leap and join a yoga teacher training that took place over the course of six months in Alabama. Through that teacher training, she found not only a deeper yoga practice for herself, but also the tools and confidence to share yoga with others, and she began teaching private group classes that same year. She has found yoga to be an invaluable tool that works on every aspect of a person’s being simultaneously — an ancient, proven technology that benefits body, mind, and spirit. In addition to yoga, Sarah Jane finds value in all the God-given tools for well-being we have at our disposal while on the earth, whether that is food, plant medicine, the healing properties of our natural environment, breathwork, or meditation! Sarah Jane is also a wife and homeschooling mama of three — and a little bit of a homesteading country gal! She loves Jesus and living in Tennessee, and in her spare time enjoys reading, writing, gardening, watching classic movies with her husband, singing, playing guitar, and spending time with her children, her 20 animals, her extended family, and friends.
